About the Construction Innovation Hub

The construction sector needs to transform the way buildings are designed, manufactured, integrated and connected within the built environment to create high performing assets.

The Construction Innovation Hub will enable a structural change programme to deliver this, through an evidence based and demonstrated set of activities, including:

  • A complete understanding of the market opportunities
  • Sets of tools for industry to enable a step change in productivity
  • Fully relevant and proportionate standards
  • Real-life exemplars

The Hub will do this through its existing network leverage; building on the existing community, academia, industry and research; building on existing capacity; and utilising and learning best practice from other specialist sectors.

The Construction Innovation Hub has established connections across government, industry and academia and is well connected to most other industry networks.  MTC, BRE and CDBB can demonstrate strong, authoritative and independent capability and relevant, complementary competences that can be scaled up as required to deliver the programme.

The Hub will deliver the structural change programme to fully support the announced Construction Sector Deal, to substantially boost the sector’s productivity, and maximise its export potential.
