This October saw the Construction Innovation Hub make its debut appearance at UK Construction Week, the UK’s largest built environment event. The Hub’s presence at the show was used as an opportunity to engage directly with the industry players who will be critical to the success of the programme, as well as raise the profile and visibility of the Hub.

Our technical, communications and engagement colleagues spent several months carefully planning a stand which would showcase the very best of what the Hub partners – the MTC, BRE and CDBB – are doing to help transform the sector. We worked closely with TV personality and architect George Clarke and his educational charity MOBIE and featured their Student Design Challenge home of the future as part of our stand.

We had a strong presence from the Hub for the duration of the event, with our leads chairing lively discussions, being part of thought-provoking panels and presenting the UKCW Construction Awards at the Main Stage. The Hub also delivered presentations at the CE Midlands Annual Construction and the Lean Construction Summits.

UKCW 2019 was a real success, reaching best ever attendance and our hard work paid off – the Hub stand received excellent feedback and we managed to net ourselves a gong for Best Stand over 100m2!

All in all, a great week for the Construction Innovation Hub.
