The Construction Innovation Hub has enjoyed a busy and productive few weeks exhibiting and leading key conversations at some of the UK’s most exciting events in construction.
After our participation in CDBB Week and our award-winning involvement in UK Construction Week (UKCW), the Hub’s road trip continued to Digital Construction Week (DCW) on 16 -17 October.
We were delighted to partner with DCW in delivering the UK’s leading exhibition for innovation and technology in the built environment. Our exclusive Construction Innovation Hub Theatre showcased a jam-packed programme of seminars and panel discussions, with speakers from MTC, CDBB and BRE sharing their expertise on a range of thought-provoking topics. The theatre also hosted exciting presentations from those outside the Hub that are also driving innovation and technology forward in the built environment.
The Hub closed the show on Thursday with a lively and discursive workshop in the Main Stage, led by Keith Waller and delivered in partnership with the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) and the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE). During the session, industry leaders explored the subject of embracing new digital tools to drive value-based procurement.
The outputs of this workshop will inform the Construction Innovation Hub’s creation of a digital tool to support value-based decision making. Using the five capitals model, we will define a set of metrics and a proof of concept for the methodology in order to proceed the creation of the tool, actively engaging with industry and government at every stage. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the discussion, and we look forward to continuing the conversations as our work on value-based procurement moves forward.
Our team are extremely proud of the progress made in raising the profile and visibility of the Hub via CDBB week, UKCW and DCW– a huge thank you goes out to the show organisers, our partners and colleagues who helped with the planning and participation. We would as well like to thank all the fantastic attendees of UKCW and DCW that we met across both of our stands.
