The Construction Innovation Hub (the Hub) has signalled its support for a new Vision for the Built Environment published today.
The vision describes a safe, high quality, resilient and low carbon built environment system that works together to meet the needs of our future society, environment and economy.
Commenting on the publication, Construction Innovation Hub Director Keith Waller said:
This Vision supports the Hub’s focus on encouraging innovation to unlock the potential of transformation across the built environment sector. It represents another resource that can be accessed as we chart a new path in response to the increasingly complex challenges we face as we recover from a global pandemic. We will continue to drive toward a transformed construction sector by working collaboratively to enable a sustainable future for society, the economy and our natural environment.”
Simon Lawrence, Director Strategy Performance and Assurance, Infrastructure and Projects Authority, said:
This Vision for the Built Environment continues the spirit of collaboration between industry and government over the past year, setting out principles consistent with government priorities and recent publications. As we move through COVID-19 recovery and look towards COP26, the IPA will publish Transforming Infrastructure Performance: Roadmap to 2030, setting out the collective efforts required to achieve the transformation needed across the system of the built environment.”
